Help! Tyson Ritter and Topman team up for charity. October 26th, 2010

Tyson Ritter has style.  He’s modeled for John Varvatos.  He’s helped design the All American Reject cover art.  And now the front man is turning into a fashion designer, all in the name of charity.

He’s taken a blank Topman suit, colored all over it, strategically shredded it, asked his fellow MTV regulars and Warped Tour performers to write on it, and put it up on eBay.

All the proceeds go to Haiti relief efforts and also, let’s be honest, it’s as pretty rad suit that’s tax deductible and full of good karma (as in: wear it and you’ll probably get laid).  Go here to bid on it.

Well Suited: Topman and Tyson Ritter Auction a Suit for Don’t Hate on Haiti

OK, confession time: we aren’t too familiar with the body of work belonging to the band The All-American Rejects, but once we got a peek at the lead singer Tyson Ritter, we knew everything we needed to know. The dreamy-eyed, floppy-haired singer has enlisted the help of his friends and colleagues while he was out on the Warped Tour to help him raise money for the non-profit he started Don’t Hate on Haiti. A hottie with heart? Swoon.

The deal goes like this: Ritter stenciled and spray painted his white Topshop suit (red and blue — very patriotic) and wore it the whole time he was touring. He had other musicians on tour with him put their John Hancock’s on the spiffy threads too. Now it’s up for auction on Ebay and all the money will go to ensure we get clean water to the folks who are still suffering in Haiti. Out of all the trendy collaborations out there, fashion and charity always look great together.

Awareness into ACTION- Don’t Hate On Haiti

Hello my fellow rockers of the world,

This is Tyson from The All-American Rejectshere, and I just wanted to let you all know that there’s an item on eBay that’s worth your time to check out. On this past Warped tour, I collected donations for the people of Haiti through an organization called Don’t Hate On Haiti. Our goal was to raise as much awareness and money to aide the recovery from the disastrous earthquake that displaced thousands. In addition to donations, I had every band on the tour sign the suit that I played the tour in. Now said suit will be going up for auction starting Tuesday the 19th through the 29th of this month and I wanted to reach out for your assistance in getting the word out. Just a little rundown of why your help means so much:

Since the conditions there are still awful, it was the goal of my organization ‘donthateonhaiti.org’ to get the people their most necessary and basic of needs; Clean Water. Teaming up with a non-for-profit that donates 100% of all donations, Charity:Water (charitywater.org), it is my goal to go to Haiti and build 5 clean water wells for their community. From warped tour alone I managed to raise around $20,000.
